Investment Analyst, Private Investments Please find the job posting here: https://jobs.thegiin.org/job/6280/investment-analyst,-private-investments/ About the Job The Analyst of Private Investments will work within the Investment Research team to support investment sourcing, due diligence and reporting efforts, primarily for private market funds. We are looking for an entry-level professional with familiarity or direct experience with impact and investment analysis. A key component of this role is conducting deep due diligence on a wide set of opportunities, so a hunger for learning about various impact issues and how to address them with investment capital is paramount. We are building a team of self-starters and independent specialists who will develop deep expertise in their domain areas and take responsibility for service delivery to a diverse range of impact-focused investors. We are looking for someone who is organized, communicative, intrinsically motivated, and passionate about applying their energy, time and brain power to address real world issues. Responsibilities This Investment Analyst role is an entry level position with responsibilities including: Conduct primary and secondary research on impact investment opportunities in private markets, including venture capital, private equity, debt and real asset funds Engage with fund managers from early stages to late stages of due diligence Write due diligence reports and prepare presentation materials Prepare financial and impact reporting for clients’ investments Source opportunities by attending online and in-person events and maintaining a network Support due diligence and reporting for other pillars of Align’s Investment Team, such as Public Markets and Direct Investments, on an as needed basis Conduct market research on impact themes including renewable energy, food & agriculture, racial equity, gender equity, conservation, biodiversity, financial inclusion, and climate justice Organize and maintain internal databases and improve processes. Qualifications We believe the following skills, experience and attributes are necessary for a successful Investment Analyst: Bachelor’s degree in a related field 1-3 years of professional experience in a related field Knowledge and familiarity with investment analysis Demonstrated passion for impact investing Energized by research and learning about new topics Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Ability to multi-task and take ownership of processes and service delivery Enthusiasm for taking initiative Eloquent in both verbal and written communications Strong analytical and time management skills Self-reflective, committed to continuous improvement.
