Manage trip pricing and gross margin for programs.
Monitor sales performance and successfully manage trip inventory, acquiring or releasing dates as bookings dictate
Create contracts and negotiate pricing with ground operators, vessel owners and other key partners
Responsible for sourcing, interviewing, and hiring new field staff in conjunction with HR/Field Staff team as needed
Provide support for field staff, helping to ensure trip quality and safety
Manage Nat Hab gear purchases for and branding in the field
Review and approve invoicing from partners/vendors
Ensure field staff are prepared with pre-trip instructions and complete traveler-related information
Act as a problem-solver for Expedition Leaders, field staff and operators/vendors as required to address issues/concerns pre, during and post-trip, including evenings and weekends when required
Act as a resource for in-house Adventure Specialist, Concierge and Guest Services colleagues regarding trip-specific information such as itinerary, hotel, meal and transportation
Provide content for and maintain digital and print marketing materials in conjunction with the Marketing team
Organize, build and ensure the complete accuracy of dates, pricing and other key trip details in our CRM software and on the Nat Hab website
Continually review and implement feedback from guests and field staff to improve future departures
Ensure partners are compliant in terms of risk management, contracts, insurance and other details
Assist in the planning and execution of field staff training retreats locally and around the world
Be on site as needed at various East Africa destinations where we operate
The position may include other responsibilities and opportunities not listed above and is sure to require non-office-hour work

Salary Range: $72,500 - $87,500, plus annual bonus. Compensation commensurate with experience.

This position comes with generous PTO and paid holidays. Benefits include Site Inspection on Nat Hab trips, pro deals on outdoor clothing and an onsite fitness facility. Eligibility for medical insurance, participation in 401(k) with company match and parental leave after a predetermined period of time.
This is a full-time, exempt position.

In addition to having two weeks of Site Inspection time on Nat Hab trips when one is a participant on a scheduled program, the Adventure Director should be based in the desired region or expect to travel many additional weeks per year to set up programs, build field knowledge, improve trip itineraries, potentially develop new programs, and build rapport with partners around the world. It is preferred that this will be a Colorado-based position, however, should we determine to hire a remote candidate they would generally be expected to attend three to four (or more) annual multi-day-long retreats, meetings and/or company gatherings in Boulder, Colorado. Staff may also be required to come to the office multiple times throughout the year to prepare for upcoming seasons.

Natural Habitat Adventures is a growing company that welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds. We seek to foster and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and high-performing culture in our office and in the field. Even if you don’t have experience in the travel sector, we invite you to show us how you can help Nat Hab become an even stronger company.
