Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Operation Homefront is sourcing candidates for a Director of Integrated Public Relations, preferably located in San Antonio, Texas or Remote.

The Director of Integrated Public Relations (IPR) will play an integral role in planning, developing, implementing, and directing a strategic public relations program, both internal and external, to raise awareness of Operation Homefront as a leading national military and veteran charity. Reporting to the Senior Director of IPR, the Director will be key in using media communications to produce measurable impact and results in positive brand awareness, image, reputation, and key stakeholder engagement by collaborating with corporate and foundation partners, creating PR plans and tactics to lead regional event promotions, and support marketing campaigns, donor activations and special events. Must have first-hand experience in managing and cultivating relationships with a variety of stakeholders and knowledge of integrated, multi-channel public relations with the ability to analyze information and convert to messages and communications appropriate to the target audience. Director should have experience and be comfortable engaging with C-suite executives, measuring results, and analyzing PR-related data metrics. Director will be adaptable, creative, have excellent writing skills and be a team player exemplifying the core values of Operation Homefront.

Desired candidates will have:

Bachelors’ degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, PR, Marketing, or related field
7-10 years’ experience in PR and Media Relations, agency experience preferred
3-5 year’s managerial experience
Ability to pass criminal background check and MVR (annual)
Valid driver’s license
Writing, editing, communication skills
Understanding of Media environment

Primary job duties include:

In conjunction with the Sr. Director of Integrated Public Relations, the director will lead and manage year-round regional media strategy and implementation, cultivating relationships with local media in key markets across the country. Director will create and execute public relations plans that detail the strategy, tactics, messages, channels, outcomes, and measurements to achieve success for donor-related and organizational campaigns, promotions and special events, and regional program delivery. Director will lead training and delivery of media training to ensure that core messaging is executed with all spokespersons across the country.
Act as IPR account manager with key corporate partners and stakeholders as designated by Sr. Director of Integrated Public Relations. Collaborate with Development team and partners to create and implement effective PR strategies to promote the brand image and safeguard the reputation of Operation Homefront and our partners to include pitch opportunities in television, radio, social media, print, web, and other news media as well as at external events, building and expanding relationships with media outlets to increase visibility and secure quality coverage that showcases the impact of OH and its partners.
Plays key role in implementing strategic public relations initiatives for OH major campaigns, programs, and initiatives., With Sr. Director of Integrated Public Relations, develop and leverage editorial calendar to support full mission content.
Proficient in generating reports and analyzing data to measure and share results of public relations campaigns and partner activations.

Other Details:

General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events. Occasionally required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
