RSMAS - Programmer II - CIMAS Description: The Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Programmer II position to work in Miami. The position is within the Physical Oceanography Division of NOAA/AOML. The incumbent will be developing software for the US Argo Data Assembly Center (DAC). Duties include but are not limited to: Writing software in higher level languages (mainly Fortran, Java, C/C++) Design/develop robust software packages; Writing shell scripts; Transition software to operational application; Document what the code does and how it needs to be used; Contribute to monitoring of the processing system as well as reprocessing of data. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a Bachelors degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or related fields and 3 years of relevant work related experience. Necessary skills include some familiarity with Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX-based systems, Designing software, Writing software in various higher level languages, Shell scripting.
