Information Technology Manager
For more than 110 years, Milton Hershey School (MHS) has helped children realize their full potential by offering a top-notch private, cost-free education to students in pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade from income-eligible families. To expand and enhance the impact of Milton and Catherine Hershey’s vision, the Boards and management of Milton Hershey School and the Hershey Trust Company are launching the Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning (CHS), a cost-free, non-residential early childhood education program.

CHS plans to open six early childhood education Centers by 2027. The Centers are designed for children from birth to age 5 from economically disadvantaged and at-risk backgrounds with the goal of encouraging the development of a child’s educational, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical well-being. The CHS Initiative will provide a focus on core early learning programs through a rigorous and relevant curriculum that is aligned with a mission to nurture and educate enrolled children. Children also will receive supports such as nutritious meals and provisions of supplies, among other early learning enhancements. Finally, CHS will offer integrated support services for families of children enrolled in the Centers.

Role Description:

The Information Technology Manager will oversee IT operations for the CHS Initiative and ensure they align with the best practices established by MHS, while supporting and resolving the IT needs of CHS students, staff, and families. The selected individual is to be dynamic and strategic in reviewing and managing IT systems around procurement, maintenance, support, project management, and system upgrades, as well as coordinate contracts with third-party providers as necessary.

Responsibilities:

The Information Technology Manager will be responsible for:

Formulating and deploying strategic plans for the CHS IT operating model in collaboration with MHS IT
Establishing a network for the CHS schools to facilitate information sharing while following best practices in cybersecurity
Implementing and integrating operational and education technology/software across the CHS Central Office and CHS schools
Managing infrastructure technology assets and activities (including personal devices) for the CHS Central Office and CHS schools
Overseeing upgrades of existing systems and procurement of new systems
Managing contracts with third-party providers and establishing clear lines of communication for responsive technical support to CHS staff and students as needed
Managing vendor relationship and ensuring vendors are meeting project objectives and SLAs

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in related field - preferred
Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
Proficiency in networking, IT infrastructure, software support, and cybersecurity
Experience implementing cloud and/or server-based software for medium/large teams
Demonstrated ability in managing and maintaining a Help Desk tracking/ticketing process
High level of organization / efficiency, with ability to coordinate simultaneous projects successfully
Exceptional communication skills – written, verbal, and platform
Commitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS and demonstrated high degree of integrity as all MHS and CHS staff are considered to be role models for students
Comfort in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
U.S. work authorized required
Knowledge of education and classroom technology trends (preferred)
Proven ability to negotiate and work with vendors and consultants (preferred)
