Job Summary The School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) overarching mission is to contribute to the protection of the Earth's resources and the achievement of a sustainable society. Through research, education, and outreach, the faculty, staff, and students are devoted to generating knowledge and developing policies, techniques, and skills to help practitioners manage and conserve natural resources to meet the full range of human needs on a sustainable basis. The Program Manager of Student Diversity Services will develop and monitor student programs to promote the diversity goals of The Program in the Environment (PitE) and the SEAS community. You will work with the DEI Faculty Director and the PitE Managing Director to amplify recruitment and the student experience. You will be dedicated to networking and developing pathways for undergraduate and graduate DEI programming and innovatively enhancing a safe and respectful environment. In fulfillment of this objective, you will support the SEAS’ Diversity Strategy and build relationships to promote DE&I activities and improve cross-cultural communication with stakeholders. Job Responsibilities Lead the development of DEI strategic programming for both undergraduate and graduate students. Develop metric strategies and determine goals aligned with DEI organizational objectives. Work with SEAS administrative offices to establish DEI professional development opportunities for students. Curate and maintain safe spaces for SEAS Graduate and PitE affinity groups. Identify student climate concerns, provide solutions, and develop action plans to reduce future challenges. Partner with leadership and staff to ensure DEI practices are understood and supported. Foster relationships with diverse institutions and pathway programs. Establish programs to support prospective students and maintain a competitive edge. Produce lists of prospective students and influencers to work with the Office of Academic Programs. Help develop grant proposals to collect financial resources for future DEI programs obtained by SEAS. Keep current on diversity programs and developments by maintaining contact with other university efforts. Requirements: Bachelor's degree with experience in DEI programming or social responsibility and equity. Experience with societal bias, and ability to apply this knowledge to improve processes. Experience working with graduate and undergraduate students. Experience leading student centered programs and working with diverse populations using a positive and engaging approach. Experience in coalition building and engaging diverse partner groups. Ability to develop strategic plans and establish systems of accountability. Experience gathering and analyzing DEI data. Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize new issues while maintaining long-term priorities. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; high quality development of documentation and presenting information during group sessions. Demonstrated ability to network with different internal and external stakeholders.
