Strategic Partnerships Program Associate - (Work remotely during Covid-19)|
The Program Associate works with the Strategic Partnerships Team to coordinate and support outreach and advocacy for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. This position is based in Washington, D.C. and reports to the VP of Strategic Partnerships.
∑ Coordinate with the Director of Advocacy and Outreach with support of a national coalition that works on tobacco issues.
∑ Coordinate the development of presentations, reports and other materials used in outreach, policy, advocacy and accountability efforts with partner groups.
∑ Create, manage and maintain database systems for Strategic Partnerships including listserve lists and support information to partners and coalition members.
∑ Manage the research process for potential partner/coalition organizations.
∑ Assist with coordinating the process of gaining support from partner and coalition members to sign on to tobacco-related letters.
∑ Assist Strategic Partnerships Team with outreach communications, including coordinating, formatting, and sending of letters electronically to Congressional offices and coalition partners.
∑ Outreach to partners groups and track grant deliverables.
∑ Support our state and federal groups with partnership information collaborating with them with sustaining partnership relationships.
∑ Support the Strategic Partnership team with ideas, project involvement and coordination.
∑ Support the partnership efforts with coordinating with other team members, presenting reports, calendar organization, newsletter development, attending and participating in various internal and external meetings collaboratively.
Youth Advocacy Team Support
∑ Assist in planning and coordinating annual Capitol Hill Day for National Youth Ambassadors.
∑ Assist with Youth Advocacy teamís efforts to engage CTFK youth ambassadors in targeted legislative advocacy activities throughout the year.
∑ Track programming of Youth Advocacy Team training and events.
Administrative Program Support
∑ Work with the Strategic Partnerships team to manage and track partnership agreements, grants, contracts and deliverables. This includes assisting with the calendar/deliverables, creating contracts, coordinating signature process, etc.
∑ Schedule meetings, track events, and support activities of the VP of Strategic Partnerships and other team members as necessary.
∑ Oversee process of contract payments to consultants, vendors and/or payees.
∑ Perform other duties as assigned.
∑ Excellent writing and editing skills
∑ Enthusiastic and outgoing, not afraid to speak up in a professional and well thought out manner
∑ Experience in conducting basic research on issues including those that may be legislative and regulatory in nature
∑ Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while juggling and coordinating multiple projects and deadlines
∑ A willingness to think outside of the box and assist to get projects completed
∑ Ability to take initiative and work independently with only general supervision
∑ Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills
∑ General understanding of the legislative process
∑ Interest or commitment to tobacco control
∑ Bachelorís degree
∑ Two years of government relations, non-profit advocacy, Capitol Hill, alliance support or related experience preferred
