The Human Resources Manager aligns business objectives and Human Resource objectives for a TRIMEDX business unit. This role is integral to coordinating the work of HR Business Partners and with the HR functional teams and Centers of Excellence. Leaders in this role deliver strategic talent initiatives and support senior level decision making, provide coaching and focus on workforce and business strategy to drive a clear alignment between the business group and Human Resource strategies and initiatives. The Human Resources Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate human resource management activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources, and will partner with functions/teams such as compensation and benefits, HRIS, talent acquisition, talent development and engagement to drive solutions.
The Human Resources Manager leads the functional, cross functional, and account team members to develop integrated solutions while partnering with business unit leaders. This role formulates partnerships across the HR functions to deliver value added service to management and associates that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
The Human Resources Manager is part of senior leadership and coordinates the work of HRBPs, HR specialists within CoEs, metrics and analytics staff, and other HR professionals. Leaders in this role deliver strategic talent initiatives, support senior-level decision-making, coach executives, be responsible for all associate relations and focus on workforce and business strategy. The Human Resources Manager possesses strong business, operational, and industry knowledge as well as a solid understanding of organizational effectiveness principles.
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana Central Office. Our Central (Corporate) Office is located on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
Serves as a HR leader to contribute to strategic initiatives tied to broader organizational growth objectives.
Champions and drives culture and engagement by aligning associates with the business mission, vision and values.
Identifies and understands issues, problems and opportunities and partner with appropriate team to identify, design and implement solutions.
Serves as the single point of contact for HR related matters to the business.
Performs tasks assigned to achieve HRBP organizational goals and departmental projects.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems, and recommends necessary changes
Has a focus on Continuous improvement and recommends and helps design new approaches, policies, and procedures to impact the efficiency of department and services performed
Translates surveys, benchmarking studies and research regarding alternative or advanced employment practices used in other businesses into appropriate recommendations for change
Creates and implements comprehensive project plans ensuring that project deliverables are achieved on time
Act as the corporate liaison in the development of Human Resources implementations while making certain that field operational requirements are met
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
PHR and/or SPHR preferred
At least 10 years of experience in an HR environment with a heavy emphasis on employee relations, project management and change management.
At least 3 years in a management role leading others or leading key projects is essential
Multiple HR leadership site/geography experience is critical
Must be able to work independently
Strong union and labor relations background is preferred
A proven ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects in the midst of constant change is a must
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
Familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations is required
The ability to interact with all levels of the organization and have the ability to influence key stakeholders and decision makers is essential for success
Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job
The ability to use and apply sound logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions , or approaches to problems is required
Excellent communication and proven presentation skills required
PMP or lean six sigma certifications a plus
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Proven track record (multiple large projects and experience with new business is required) of effective process and project management with a focus on continuous improvement.
Ability to embrace ambiguity, handle multiple priorities, and identify creative solutions to complex problems.
Ability to thrive in an environment with a high degree of change
Demonstrated history of taking initiative, meeting commitments and creating new tools or solutions to achieve business results.
High level of energy, personal accountability and integrity.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, recruitment, development, engagement, benefits, organizational design, , employee relations, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws is a must
Experience in a multi-site service operation.
Deep understanding of the business and/or past experience that demonstrates the ability to understand business objectives and drive results
Clear understanding of an effective and impactful HR business partner model
Highly collaborative and drives toward solutions while maintaining harmony within a group or team
