Salary: $50,000-$55,000

Motlow State is the fastest growing college in Tennessee. We are located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and have four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field required. Three years of demonstrated administrative experience, with experience in friend raising, community service, event management, and fund raising.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to administer private, nonprofit service organizations, including and understanding of the legal responsibilities and constraints of such organizations.

Ability to obtain external gifts and grants and to obtain and manage contracts and capital campaigns.

Ability in the area of communication: written and oral and interpersonal skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with federal, state, regional, and local agencies, community leaders, and the general public.

Knowledge of available public and private resources.

Knowledge of current principles, methods, and techniques of program plans.

Knowledge of fund-raising techniques and planned giving principles.

Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, equity, diversity and management of multiple priorities and projects.

General Function:
The Assistant Director of Community Relations is administratively responsible to the Executive Director for Community Relations of Motlow State Community College. The Assistant Director will assist in the functions of the Community Relations Unit to ensure that the College has healthy community relations with community leaders and organizations throughout Motlow State Community College’s eleven-county service area.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
(Duties and responsibilities listed are examples of work performed and may be modified as needs of the College may dictate)
Maintain positive relationships with Motlow State’s community organizations, government, and community leaders. Ensure that all relationships are in the best interest of the College, the Foundation, and in conformity with the overall objectives and policies of the College and Foundation.
Work closely with Executive Director to collaborate with stakeholders to build relationships and partnerships with the surrounding businesses, industries, and educational entities to enhance and build programs and training opportunities.
Ensure that all relationships are in the best interest of the college as well as maintaining the focus on the College’s mission, vision, and values.
Serve as a College to Town and Gown liaison to external stakeholders.
Support the Executive Director and Executive Vice President of Workforce and Community Development in advancing the College’s strategic priorities and reinforcing the departments mission as it aligns with the President’s vision.
Serve as liaison to External Affairs regarding Community College Relations as needed.
Ensure institutional compliance with internal policies, Tennessee Board of Regents policies and guidelines, Tennessee Higher Education Commission policies and guidelines, SACSCOC requirements and standards, and state and federal laws related to Community College Relations.
Provide leadership and vision to collaborate with Executive Director and Executive Vice President of Workforce and Community Development on a strategic plan for Community Relations, including but not limited to professional development, marketing, media relations, publications, events, and agile outreach.
Support special events, supporting internal and external use of the campus facilities.
Serves on community taskforces, boards, or committees related to the College’s interests
Co-develop relationships across the Rutherford County Community to enhance effectiveness and service to allow the College to meet its goals in responsiveness.
Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
