Stith (center), director of the African Presidential Archives and Research Center at Boston University, receives an honorary degree from Clark Atlanta University President Walter D. Broadnax (left) during spring commencement. Joining in the presentation is Dr. Laurent P. Monye, university macebearer. Honorary degrees were also presented to the Honorable Leah Ward Sears, chief justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia, and entrepreneur/civic leader William Edward Shack Jr. After the keynote address from Stith, more than 900 students received degrees.
