2021 Virtual Black History Convocation

Each Year the Mississippi Valley State University Family holds its Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Black History Convocation. This year the university celebrated The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity. MVSU Alum, the Rev. Edward Thomas ('02), the Senior Pastor of the Greater Northside Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi, served as the keynote speaker. The MVSU University Choir rendered selections under the direction of Dr. Brandon Cash and collaborative pianist Dr. Lemondra Hamilton. Student Government Association President Jhah Cook offered greetings, and Rodkell Barber shared spoken word.
