Nneka Igbokwe, an experienced black professional now hired on at Microsoft as a Service Delivery Project Manager, attended a diversity recruiting event hosted by HBCU CONNECT and Microsoft in the Washington, D.C. area.
Not only did Nneka receive a next day interview after attending the event and networking with Microsoft recruiters and hiring managers, but she also landed the job!
Congratulations Nneka, and we look forward to hearing more great things from you in the future!
Nneka shared a recommendation for us and to others considering attending one of our events...
"I attended an HBCU Connect hiring event for Microsoft in Silver Spring, MD. I connected with great people from Microsoft at the event (to include my current manager and my skip level manager). I made connections to people that I keep in touch with till this day. I encourage everyone to stay on the lookout for events in your city and come prepared with your resume and research the company. You might have an interview as early as the next day (like I did). "
While Nneka did not attend an HBCU, our events are open to diverse professionals from HBCUs and non-HBCUs.
