With the success of a series of recent events hosted by Microsoft and HBCU CONNECT, Microsoft doubles down on their efforts to hire more African American Software Engineers and Program Managers through a virtual recruitment event on Thursday, June 18th, 2020.
Typically the diversity recruitment events with HBCU CONNECT have been hosted in targeted cities all over the country in the form of after work networking info-sessions, but with the spread of COVID-19, the next hiring event will be hosted online using Microsoft's "Teams" software.
"What's really cool is that, with our first virtual hiring event in partnership with Microsoft, one of the hiring organizations included Microsoft Teams, the same group that created the software that we leveraged for our virtual event" said Will Moss, CEO of HBCU CONNECT.
Candidates appreciated the interactive format for the event, which was moderated by Will Moss, the current CEO of HBCU CONNECT. "Candidates will be able to learn more about the hiring organization, Microsoft culture, meet members of the team, and then ask questions interactively to members of the team" said Moss.
The hiring organization within Microsoft that will be sponsoring the event is the Core Services Engineering and Operations team. Known as the heartbeat of Microsoft, the technologists for the technologists. The engineers for the engineers. CSEO is looking to hire more Software Engineers and Program Managers with 7+ years of experience.
