Jacqueline Baines, Miss Livingstone College

Posted By: Elynor Moss on January 19, 2017

Hometown: Chicago, IL

Year in School: Senior

Major/Minor: Biology

Expected Graduation: 2017

Extracurricular Activities: Entourage Modeling Troupe, Livingstone College Women's Bowling Team, and the Marching Band Dance Team.

Leisure Activities: Softball, Dancing, and listening to music from all genres.

Career Goals: My career goal is to obtain my Biology degree from Livingstone College in May 2017, after I wish to attend Morehouse School of Medicine and become a pediatrician.

What is your most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen?: A Campus Queen can execute change in her school and community by always exemplify staying above the norm. My biggest contribution has been giving back to my community when I participated in the restoration of our campus street homes that sit on the outside of the campus. This project meant the world to me because it was not just about making a building beautiful but it was about showing how much we care about our community. These homes are very historic and play such a vital part to the Salisbury community just like Livingstone College founded in 1879 by the African Methodist Episcopal Zion church who believed in the community and the people who lived here. The community plays such a major part in the success of an HBCU, from the local vendors to the community churches, to all local businesses. Building up The community means keeping our value high and worth giving back to you.
